The field of understanding and recovering from trauma is extremely new. And although some of the work has been studied since the early 1970’s it has only started to enter the mainstream awareness in the last decade. There’s still a deep lack of trauma informed practitioners even in the field of psychology, science and medicine, and even more in the field of new age sexuality and mysticism which can often be a way to bypass traumas instead of addressing and healing them.

Joining workshops, events, healing modalities or practitioners who are not trauma informed can result in a deeper re-traumatization, sometimes in a way that becomes evident only in hindsight, or even many years later. In some ways this is the nature of trauma and the memory it holds in our brain, psyche and body. For this reason, before choosing a practitioner or teacher, even the ones stated on this website, I deeply recommend to check that they are suitable for you, and that they do not contribute to the ongoing propagation of trauma on individual, social or collective levels.

I work to become more trauma-informed in all aspects of my life and work, especially as the field and my skills develop and hold deep reverence and gratitude to all the people out there coping with trauma, recovering from it and supporting others on their recovery journey.

To learn more about Trauma and Body memory I recommend the book “The Body Keeps The Score” published only in 2014.
